  • Since October 1, 2004 ParaQuad NSW has been contracted by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) to supply Mobility & Functional Support (MFS) products and services to the veteran community as a part of the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP). With over 1200 contracted products, ParaQuad NSW is offering prescribers and clients a pre-approved range of products to meet the needs of DVA clients.

    AIM OF THE RAP
The aim of the Rehabilitation Appliances Program is to restore, facilitate or maintain functional independence as a part of the provision of quality health care to entitled veterans and war widows.

The Department does not provide unadaptive domestic or recreational items which are considered to be standard household equipment, nor items that may be considered  part of normal apparel and domestic requirements.

The equipment that may be provided through the program is listed in the RAP National Schedule of Equipment on the Department of Veterans Affairs website. Some appliances have restrictions on eligibility, being provided only to veterans who have an accepted disability, where there is a clinical need for the equipment supply.

The Program provides equipment for self-help and rehabilitation purposes, for the ‘entitled person’s personal use’. It is a community-support program and it is not delivered to entitled persons in hospitals and/or residential aged care services.

A range of documents are available for prescribers to assist with the requirements for veterans under the MFS section of the RAP program.

The documents can be downloaded above. The lists are updated regularly so please ensure that you download the latest list.

If you have questions or require assistance please contact ParaQuad's MFS Client Relations Team on 1300 799 243.

All RAP Direct Order Forms should be faxed to 1300 799 253.
