Our Primary Health Care team provides a free service in three important areas: specialist spinal nursing, occupational therapy and social work support to adults in NSW with an acquired spinal cord injury, their carers and families.
The team also provides services to health professionals who are managing the health needs of an adult with an acquired spinal cord injury, or who have an interest in spinal cord Injury.
The Primary Health Care team’s goal is to protect and promote the health of adults with an acquired spinal cord injury and strengthen their capacity to participate in the community.
Services for health professionals include education and in-service training, consultancy via phone or email, or one-on-one service visits with treating professionals working within the Sydney metropolitan area.
All clients with an acquired spinal cord injury receiving a service through ParaQuad NSW’s Attendant Care program are eligible to receive a direct multidisciplinary service from the Primary Health Care Team.
