Education & Training

Over the last 20 years ParaQuad NSW has been offering training about spinal cord injury to personal carers and a number of other groups in the community.

In 2009, we are offering training for personal carers through our public calendar of workshops as well as a number of offerings for other professionals who may be working with clients with a spinal cord injury.

Newsletter - The Training Telegraph

The Training Telegraph is a quarterly newsletter to keep subscribers up to date with training issues, events and special offers for our workshops.

Training for Personal Carers

Our public calendar of training is developed for personal carers working in the community with people with spinal cord injury (SCI) or similar physical disabilities.

‘Understanding Spinal Cord Injury’ is an overview of the effect of spinal cord injury and the associated personal care requirements.

‘Handling Difficult Situations’ is an interactive workshop which allows participants to explore some of the difficult situations they face in their work and identify some strategies to manage them.

Specialist Training for Community Health
Workshops for Occupational Therapists will be conducted in 2009. The workshops will look at the specialist knowledge required to assist clients with a spinal cord injury.

Specialist education for Registered Nurses about spinal cord injury is being offered as customised in-service sessions.
